A note on the photographs:
These photographs were made starting in late March, 2002, when I first joined Andrea Radwell and others like my birder friend Mike Mlodinow in supporting preservation for the perennial and seasonal wetlands at Wilson Springs. As a birder and a biologist, I've focused first on birds, then other aspects of the area's very diverse biota. I've used a Sony Mavica, a digital camera with resolution maximum of 1.6 megapixels. Most bird photos were taken with aid of a spotting scope. I claim no artistic merit or quality for these photos. Their purpose is to visually document the diverse biota of the old prairie grasslands at Wilson Springs. My faith is that busy folks like City leaders--and others unaware of this rich natural heritage--will pause as I have, at the meanings behind these images.
