Wet season native marsh habitat associated with prairie mounds and Clabber Creek bottomlands. These small, oval depressions hold water because of dense clay soils typical of prairies in NW Arkansas. These wetlands provide habitat for numerous animals and plants typical of prairies. Most are dry part of the year. Historically, this allowed fires to control vegetation. These habitats occur within the 500-year flood plain and aren't suitable for development.
