CATCONTRACT2004Watch Master Note: The CAT contract for 2004 was delayed well into January, and the delay was accompanied by a series of media stories about CAT programming content. Unfortunately, the stories involved some of the City administration staff statements to the media following review of CAT program content, as well as related statements by the Fayetteville police and presecuting attorney. Some related links are shown below. The scenario is much the same as in years past. TelecomWatch is preparing a story on the complaint process now in place for Citizen's to complain about programs on the PEG access channels, or on the commercial channels. We'll also advise how to program your TV to omit any offensive channel and/or to ask the cable company to block entry of any unwanted cable channels into your home. (We assume most folks know how to use the ON and OFF buttons or unplug the TV.) Contract Approved by Telecom Board in December: http://listserv.uark.edu/scripts/wa.exe?A2=ind0401&L=telecomboard-l&P=3249 Related media accounts: http://www.nwanews.com/times/story_searchresults.php?storyid=620&storydb=NWATstories2004 |
