Wiki Help NW-AR.COM |
KeyOrganizationInitial Steps We've primarily used the old library notion of "collecting documents by how they are the same, and then separating by how they are different." Some of the contents are derived from City paper files and official records , some come from FOIA requests to government offices for e-mail and other digital files that are not available elsewhere. As we add to our document base, along with your comments and daily events, we really have only a few clues as to how they should be identified or separated more systematically. For now, we're depending on keyword searches and rudimentary indexes to help the reader browse through the collection. And we expect to use your input as a guide in the FAQ section also. Then, every month, we plan to do an update on related topics that have been added or expanded, and these updates will be keyed to this KeyResources page. (To repeat: TelecomWatch's key goal is help make complex City government activities -- such as the new Telecommunications Task Force and longer-term infrastructure planning and design -- more easily available and user friendly. So please send us your comments on how to improve the format, also. We're more than a little antsy that our site remains so unfocused and lacking in coherency -- but the patchwork probably reflects what's available at other locations, either in City, other government, or corporate offices or on the Internet. In fact, we urge the City administration, staff, and Council members to make contributions of their information and expertise here, also, along with members of the telecommunications industry. The whole Wiki idea is for everybody to pitch in and help put the contents together in a richer and better organized way, because none of us are likely to find the contents in much better shape elsewhere -- at least in any single location. So -- if you do find something better -- please link to it for us or give us an email or phone number in the Commentary section. For now, please bear with us as we limit your direct editing and additions to the Commentary section as collect the raw information. In the meantime, if you have more urgent additional constructive comments or complaints, please make them known to your Council members, City Administration, or the Telecom Board. Maybe your suggestions will end up here in another format. |
